All About Us
NHLA is a mentoring program who goal is to assists those who have ran into problems in the classroom with opportunities to advance their education and employability skills. Our goal is help these youth complete their high school diploma, seek assistance with obtaining career employment or acceptance into a two or four year colleges or universities. NHLA will also assist those beyond high school who may not be in need of assistance in the classroom but would like to build employability skills of their choice to allow them to pursue career opportunities.
Mission Statement
The mission of New Hope Leadership Academy is to provide methods through mentoring that would effectively serve at-risk youth, low and moderate income families by provide advancement for education, career opportunities and community support. New Hope Leadership Academy’s core principles of mentoring, advisement, leadership, education and support is developed to insure that every individual involved with New Hope Leadership Academy receives a quality education that will allow them opportunities to pursue future educational goals at higher institutions of learning or career employment that best suits their needs.
Program Components
Athletics
The mission of the NHLA is to work with and help young athletes that participates in sports during high school maintain their core GPA and standardized testing score, in order to become eligible for college admission. Our goal is to provide athletes with an opportunity to gain entry and compete at the collegiate level. NHLA athletic department is to insure that every student-athlete attending high school receives a quality education that will allow him or her opportunities to pursue future educational goals at higher institutions of learning that best suits their needs.
Mentorship
NHLA Mentoring programs can provide new avenues for exploring educational and career paths. To help students make the transition from school to work the following is done: students are paired with professionals, introduced to role models, and encouraged to visit various work environments. Career-Based mentoring is a great way for older youth to be encouraged to do career exploration and provide them with hands-on experiences.

Education
NHLA Program goal is to provide and develop educational programs by providing opportunities for our students to continue their learning, refine vocational pursuits, and enhance social relationships in the settings utilized by their school-aged peers. The collaboration with the local colleges creates the possibility for authentic experiences for students to be involved with college students who have a vested interest in working with and having relationships with student athletes. Outcomes will include knowledge, skills and friendships beneficial to their transition to the adult world.
Leadership
New Hope Charter Academy goal is to provide methods through leadership capstone that would effectively serve at-risk youth by providing a personalized academic plan for a comprehensive education leading to opportunities to attain diploma and pursue future educational goals at higher institutions of learning or career employment that best suits their needs. Our comprehensive leadership curriculum provides a holistic learning environment that focuses on the student’s success by offering positive interaction with caring adults.
